This is the first case of a mother and son that I've ever come across but I suppose it could be not uncommon?
The mother was being held in Changi Prison in Singapore. Her sons were in PoW camps in Thailand. Her husband and eldest son Edward (Ted) survived as did her daughter Mary who escaped via Java.
