Not listed on UKNIWM
The Dumfries and Galloway Standard of 26 April 1916 makes reference to a Christmas packet being sent 'for each soldier on the parish roll of honour'. A minute book of the Keir Women's Guild of 19 November 1916 refers to 'the 36 men on the roll of honour'. Several other newspaper articles on the Keir Parish Work Parties refer to the roll.
This memorial would presumably have been in the parish church (now closed for worhip and in private hands).
Investigations by Gladys Cuttle have failed to discover the fate of the roll of honour. |

Recent research has shown that, surprisingly, there were two rolls of honour. A Keir Parish Roll of Honour contained the names of 80 men and remains missing. However a Keir Parish Church of 34 names has now been found and is posted at http://warmemscot.s4.bizhat.com/viewtopic.php?t=9186 |
