James Diamond enlisted on 15 April 1915 with the Royal Sussex Regiment before transfer to the Royal Engineers: service number 79090. Home address: 2 Baronflat Street, Rutherglen. He was discharged 31/10/1916 as unfit, suffering from Synovitis and received a pension. He died 22 May 1919 of Phthisis Pulmonalis. Home address: 2 Baronflat Street, Rutherglen. |

Joseph Linnie is named on the memorial as serving with the Army Service Corps. After a bit of searching I found three Pension Cards with various names for him but indicating that he served under the alias of Cairns, service number 302301. He is recorded on CWGC as Cairns:
