Whilst looking through the P.A. recently I noticed mention of memorials unveiled in Masonic Halls, for A.O.F. etc.
How are we going to get these on? I cannot think that we would get access to such premises. |

You might be pleasantly surprised. I have seen members on the Antiques Roadshow with official furniture and they were happy to describe how most of it was used in ceremonies. Members of an Orange Order granted me access to the hall they were using. I think if it is made clear that our intention is to honour their former members, then it should be well received. I would expect that an approach to the average member may not be successful and it might need to go higher up.

Here is a link to the Grand Lodge of Scotland;

Would anyone (Mods?) wish to contact them - even if we are able to get an iventory of the halls etc that have war memorials therein. |

Some weeks ago I e-mailed the curator, G.L.S., drawing his attention to the site and enquiring if there was an inventory of those lodges which housed war memorials, and whether there would be a possibillity of obtaining photographs. I have had no response. |
