Yes, it was all done by Chris Newman. I don't know any more about him but coincidentally will be mailing him today about a grave and will certainly plug the forum. He did include the following in a mail to me which is informative:
"At the end of my session of photograph and recordings of all the Dumfries & Galloway war graves I deposited my completed dossier with Dumfries & Galloway Council cemetery archives and passed on copies to the BWMP and to Eric McQuarrie. BWMP wanted to me to start again and photograph memorials, but I was unwilling to do that as I had already covered many hundreds of miles around the region at my own expense and felt that I should have been asked to do that in the first place! My web site is a simplified version of the complete dossier, but I do attempt keep my own records and the web site up to date. "
I wonder if anything similar has been done or is being done for other areas in Scotland? |
