hello everyone
another new member. thanks to Jim Murray for link to this forum.
I am currently doing bit of family history and discovered two great uncles who sadly did not return from the Great War. I would like to see their names added to the Roll of Honour and the memorial in Barrhead, Renfrewshire. I am also keen to find out both their war histories, one was in the MGC and the other the Irish Guards. This looks like a great forum and I am looking forward to gathering some great info.

Hi guys
thank you, have already had a quick look and am off on a hunt for some Carmichaels on the Tarbert, Loch Fyne Memorial that may be distant relatives of mine. I am going up there in the summer to see for myself that beautiful view. My late father was born in Tarbert in 1936 and his auntie married a Carmichael in the 1930s. I'd like to know if any of these men who are remembered are related to me. So onwards and upwards as they say!

Hello Kizzie,
Is either Hector or James Carmichael (4th Highland Mountain Brigade, RGA (TF)) yours?

Hello CSSMo
I found Angus, Dugald, John Carmichael WW1
Peter McAlister WW2
Have to do a bit of work to find out if they may be linked to my family Johnson by marriage. a bit new to this game and not disciplined or organised at the moment. keep going off on tangents.
Where did your Hector and James come from?
