This memorial is unlisted on UKNIWM - a bit of a story to it.
The memorial was originally a plaque fitted to an inside wall of Creetown United Free church (OS Map Ref NX 476 589) - photo of this original church included below. This church is now disused.
According to a local resident, after the United Free Church ceased to be used as a place of worship, the plaque was moved to the parish church, which is Church of Scotland of course, and 'dumped' at the back of the churchyard.
In more recent times it has been cleaned, mounted on a new base and installed outside of the Kirkmabreck Parish Church (Creetown) OS Map Ref NX 476 585). I did not find out when these two moves took place. Marks for the original wall fixing are visible on the back.
Nice to see a memorial that has been rescued though.
This church is the original location of the memorial.
