After recent research on a "non-comm" I had a wee look over some of my postings at our sister site SWGP.
A man mentioned on a family gravestone as having died of wounds is not on CWGC or SNWM to the best of my (limited) searching capabilities. I thought I'd do a ScotlandsPeople search but couldn't find him on any variations of his name or date of death. He is not on the towns War Memorial or RoH book either.
He's a bit of a mystey, I now want to know where he died, if not in Scotland, and of what.
Name: George McPherson
Died: 27 March 1921
Age: 26

Derek
No sign of him died in Scotland or overseas. Which cemetery is this?
More info required to progress this on. _________________ Jim

This is in the Eastern Cemetery in Arbroath.
I had a look in the library through old local newspapers for a month or so after the date of death and found no mention of him in an article or obituary.
Most curious. |

In Davids roll of honour entry it mentions George too was in action during the battle of Jutland aboard a destroyer. |

Looking up the muster roll as of xmas 1915 for Arbroath & area there's two George McPherson's listed.
George McPherson of 37 Green Street listed as serving in The Royal Naval Reserve.
The second George McPherson of Rossie Street is listed as serving in The Royal Navy. |
