Saw this article in Sunday Post dated 4th March 2007
It will take a bit more than a suggestion for anything to happen but what caught my eye was "Cathie knows of 11 Lanarkshire men who died in the Spanish Civil War."

Wishaw has the unusal dates of 1918 - 1945 for one of their memorials. I don't know their reasoning for this but it crossed my mind that it would any local men lost in the Spanish Civil War.
It might be worth keeping an eye on the letters page of the Sunday Post to see if anything else crops up.
