Can you say where you obtained the above details it might save a bit of time?

The QAIMNS bit was taken from the way she is commemorated on the memorial and the family details from the local paper so neither are from an official (or even reliable) source.
Hopefully the QARANC archives will settle the matter.

QARANC Headquarters do not hold a database and advised me to contact the Army Personnel Centre which I did and I am required to pay £30 for them to check her Personal File, which is out of the question. So it appears that there is no 'list' of previous members, other than Geoff's Search Engine but then that is compiled from CWGC records.
However I have gone through the official NA document on the sinking of the Kuala and Tanjong Penang and there is a reference to Miss Lilian Murray by one of the survivors -"Miss Lily Murray, MEO, Malayan Nursing Service, General Hospital".
I have yet to find out what MEO stands for but the Malayan Nursing Service was generally staffed by the UK Colonial Nursing Service. So my guess is, if Lily Murray was a QAIMNS, she would have been recognised as such by her uniform.
I think it safe to say that any mention of QAIMNS was speculation.

Thanks for the update. I have updated the Sutherland RoH on this forum to reflect the fact that her unit is unidentified.
The MEO abbeviation seems to be something used by the website about the 'Tanjong Pinang' and may not be a clue to her unit.
If her age was 47 then she would have been old enough to have been a QAIMNS in WW1 (in fact her brother was killed in WW1 and is also listed on the memorial).
Thanks

MEO - Medical **?** Officer ? Examination ?
As a civilian she can only be recorded on the WW2 Civilian Roll of Honour by CWGC. _________________ Jim

Jim
I have sent an enquiry to the Royal College of Nursing Archives re M.E.O. and waiting their response.
All the Colonial Nursing Service Nurses were classified as Malayan Nursing Service, M.E.O. my initial guess was 'Malayan or Medical Emergency Organisation' but probably way off.
Made numerous enquiries with no luck so have assumed it is exclusive to Malayan nursing. Hopefully RCN will know.
