I started out early for Doors Open Day going to check the tour timings for Central Library, Aberdeen.
The launch of the Local Studies On-Line Archive www.silvercityvault.org.uk This was demonstrated and a Gordon Highlanders popped up on the screen.... so later in the date I checked and found 7th Bn photos and then looked for war memorials and found pictures and text about The Cowdray Hall Memorial being built and also The Lion.
The Vault will be added too there are newspaper obituries check it out... |

In this photograph from the Aberdeen City Digital Library you can see two men working on the lion which now sits outside Cowdray Hall.
One of them is James Philip, the man behind many of the magnificent granite scupltures in Aberdeen. |
