UKNIWM - 8841
This and two others I am posting (Lt Col Holcombe 8842 & Gen CE Stuart 8840) are stranger ones to me.
They 'appear' to be gravestones/markers which, in an earlier thread, we agreed to leave particularly to the British War Memorial Project (Graves).
However they have been listed by UKNIWM which suggest why have they not been recording other war graves? - or is there more detail that I am just not aware of?
Located within the nave of the older part of Dunkeld Cathedral;
The 'relevant' part reads;
NEAR THIS SPOT LYE THE REMAINS OF
COLOR SERGT D ROBERTSON
LATE 92ND REGT
WHO DIED AT DUNKELD 1ST JAN 1846
AGED 68 YEARS
Other family inscription then follows.

There is a listed memorial at Caerlaverock which I believe is simply an inscription on a family grave. From the description on UKNIWM they have no photo and only limited information so may not be aware of the nature of it.
I am going to write to my contact at UKNIWM to confirm their policy. And if, as I suspect, it should not have been listed, I will suggest they consider removing it. I will mention yours at the same time. |

I 'think' that would be the way to go spoons.
The ones I posted seemed to confuse the issue, or certainly did me!
The ones at Dunkeld, and all seem to be graves, are;
Col Sgt D Robertson 8841
Gen CE Stuart 8840
Lieut Col HFH Holcombe 8842
Please update in due course, as I'm sure you will, of any feedback/result. Thanks |

Spoons,
Did you receive any reply re. these 'graves' from the UKNIWM, although I suspect not. Interesting though they are these War Memorials listed at Dunkeld do not fit our criteria and I would prefer their non-status qualified for removal.

Well, nearly 12 years later you have now heard back from the WMR (formerly UKNIWM).
These records have now been removed from the register. Thanks for the information.
