Sorry if this topic has already been raised but wouldn't it be useful to have a section specifically dedicated to memorials which are under threat?
I've been chasing up the Argyll & Bute roads department for the past year regarding damage to the Lochawe war memorial. They sent an inspector round who claims to have seen no sign of the damage I reported to them. She must have been blind! I just think if there was a dedicated section it would help raise the profile and awareness of these issues.

I don't think this has been brought up before. We can just use this thread or create a new section. It's up to David to decide how he wants to run with this one since he adds new sections.
Cheers

Perhaps we should also consider if we want to categorise them, or include only certain categories, for example memorials in imminent danger of damage like the example given, those in danger through neglect (e.g. Keir in Dumfries and Galloway) or those in danger because a church etc has closed or is in danger of closing and the future of the memorials is uncertain. Any other dangers I haven't thought of? |

I'll create a sticky topic in the "News" section. I'm reluctant to add any more sections to the forum as I think we have enough to be going along with.
