Checking for info on The British Newspapers Archive I found mention of a memorial to the Stonehaven Post Office workers.
4 names are listed I wonder if it still exists? _________________ Researching WWI info from Aberdeenshire, Banffshire, Kincardineshire & Morayshire. |

It's not on the Royal Mail memorials database:
http://catalogue.postalheritage.org.uk/dserve/bpmadocs/memorials.htm
If it still exists, and lets hope it does, it looks like it is no longer in the Post Office in Stonehaven. That's not to say it's not in private hands in the town or Aberdeenshire Council archives.
What paper was it mentioned in Anne?

I'm moving this to the Lost Memorials section since we know it existed but don't know where it is.

I think the fourth man L/Cpl R. WALKER, 1st Gordons is this man.
Not on Stonehaven WM but on the memorial in Fordoun Village Hall?

A good chance since the men wouldn't have to be from Stonehaven to work at the Stonehaven Post Office.
