Scottish Military Research Group Open Day
Saturday November 22nd 1.30 - 4.00pm at the Mitchell Library, North Street, Glasgow G3 7DN
The Mitchell Library and the Scottish Military Research Group have joined together to offer this drop-in event.
Was your ancestor in the armed forces in WW1?
Do you want to know how to find out more about your ancestors military history through photographs or other memorabilia?
Are you already researching a WW1 topic/project?
Then you are cordially invited along to the Mitchell to share your experiences.

Just a little reminder about our day at the Mitchell on the 22nd Nov.
Members who will be in attendance are Anne Anderson, Ken Morrison, Paul Goodwin(Spoons), David McNay and yours truly.
So if you are in Glasgow doing a bit of shopping on the Saturday morning why not come along in the afternoon and put a face to the username.
Hope to see you there.

What a brilliant day we had.
I was astonished by the turnout, we had over 50 enquiries, and we were busy from 1.00pm until 4.00pm.
I would like to thank Anne Park, Anne Anderson, Margaret Houston, Ken Morrison, Paul Goodwin, David McNay & Sandy Leishman (RHF Museum) for their superb support.
Also I would like to thank the Mitchell Library Staff for their excellent support.
Hopefully we will repeat the event in the not to distant future.

I can only repeat what John and Anne have said - my sincere thanks to everyone who helped out today, we couldn't have done it without you all. |

It was kind of easy and fun for most of us (I was really surprised about the amount of "stuff" I've picked up over the past few years) but to keep so many people happy while they waited and to keep the organisation flowing and well, organised, was no mean feat. Margaret Houston did an amazing job _________________ Ken |

I couldn't agree more Ken - Margaret did an amazing job, it would have been a bit of a shambles without her keeping us all sorted and organised. (Thank you Margaret!!)
A great day all round - roll on the next one!
