A date for your diary.
Once again the SMRG and the staff at the Mitchell Library are hosting an Open Day at the Mitchell on Saturday 10th October from 11am-3pm in the Blythswood Room floor 5 to which you are all invited.
It would be great to see as many of you at the event as possible because there is the added attraction of a talk to commemorate the Battle of Loos.
The talk will be given by Dr. Jen Novotny, Project Officer with the Glasgow University's Great War Project. https://glasgowunigreatwar.wordpress.com/2014/07/04/introducing-the-team-jen-novotny-project-officer/
Beginning at 2.30pm the talk will last for approx. 30 minutes followed by a Q&A session.

I will have been to Loos so my table will be full of info. I have several folders now and will have another made up after my trip. _________________ Researching WWI info from Aberdeenshire, Banffshire, Kincardineshire & Morayshire. |

I plan on being there. I don't have the know-how to help with research for people coming in for assistance but I'll happily be a "meeter and greeter" on the door!

Apologies for the short notice but I won't be able to make it tomorrow. Just had an out of hours doc visit for pain injections.
Good luck tomorrow and hope you are not swamped following the press coverage.

Quotes from some very happy visitors:
That's been a great help.
Wonderful! He found out all the information I needed.
That was marvellous - so interesting; he gave me so much information and where to find out more. I have lots of websites to look at now.
