Thanks to Mike Morley for spotting that CWGC are looking for relatives.
This man was my first ever non-com when I was researching my local war memorial back in 2008!
GUNNER
GEORGE DUNCAN
Service Number: 655782
Regiment & Unit/Ship
Royal Field Artillery
Age 22 years old
Son of Mrs Jane Duncan, of Springholm, Dalbeatie.
Died 19 August 1920
Buried or commemorated at
COLVEND PARISH CHURCHYARD
Special Memorial.
N.B.
Recent research has shown that this casualty is buried here, however it has not proved possible to identify the exact location of his grave. As a result, the Commission is now in the process of producing a special memorial to commemorate him in this churchyard. _________________ Ken |
