Located in the hallway of Moffat Academy, note that this is a new building just a few years old, the memorial was transferred from its previous location in the old Academy.
This memorial commemorates members of school staff and others who assisted members of the Polish Air Squadron in learning English. This was necessary for the squadron to achieve operational status as part of the British Air Force.

Note the dates - September and October 1940. These PAF officers were needed for the Battle of Britain.
